Winemaker

The younger son of the Woodward family, Brett is the first winemaker in the Woodward Family.

Having worked for some of Australia’s most awarded and oldest wine brands, McWilliams Mount Pleasant, Brokenwood, Bimbadgen and Penfold’s, Brett’s passion for great wine is intoxicating.

Currently  winemaker at a  local Hunter Valley Winery, Saddler’s Creek Wines as Head Winemaker / General Manager, Brett can be found not just tending to the ferments and barrels but also greeting those who come to visit the cellar door. A 5 Star James Halliday rated winery with a rich collection of quality wines available including his 2013 Botrytis Semillon, recently awarded 2016 Australian Sweet Wine of the year.

Brett is joined on his mission to create fabulous wines by his wife, Kathryn, who from time to time is convinced to join him in the vineyard or winery.  Of course without a glass of wine this is not normally successful.
